Tan Ping, born in 1961 in Wusheng, Sichuan Province, is a CPC member. He was enrolled in the History Department of Sichuan University for undergraduatestudy in 1978and finished his postgraduate study in1985 (supervised byProfessor Ke Jianzhong and Professor Ran Guangrong). Since 1988, he has been teaching and working in Chengdu University. He is currently aprofessor at theSchoolof Literature and Journalism of Chengdu University, Director of the Research Institute of Tianfu Culture, and Director of Urban Culture Research and Communication Center. Main research and teaching fields: Ancient Chinese history, Sichuan local history, television broadcasting science, etc.
He has published more than 80 papers, written and published six monographs independently or as the first author, as well as one long historical novel. He hasundertaken more than 10 scientific research projects of various types, including the National Social Science Fund Projects, withfunding of more than RMB 3 million. He has won seven awards for outstanding achievements in philosophy, social sciences and teaching from the provincial and municipal governments.
