Professor Lian Hongyu is the Deputy Dean of the School of Tourism and Culture Industry of Chengdu University, Deputy Director of Chengdu Convention & Exhibition Economy Development Research Institute, director of the board of the Universities' Alliance Across the Strait on Cultural Creative Industries Research, member of Tourism Geography Committee of Sichuan Provincial Geographic Society, member of International Tourism Studies Association (ITSA), and evaluation expert of Chengdu A-level scenic spots.

She has presided over and participated in more than 40 projects at all levels, including the Philosophy and Social Science Planning Project of Sichuan Province and Sichuan Science and Technology Support Project, published more than 40 papers and 4 textbooks, won 1 prize of Sichuan Teaching Achievement Award, 1 prize of Chengdu Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 prize of Chengdu Teaching Achievement Award, 2 prizes of Chengdu Outstanding Achievement Awards in Philosophy and Social Science, and 2 prizes of Teaching Achievement Award of Chengdu University. The students she guided have won 11 awards in national and provincial college student discipline competitions, such as the grand prize of the National College Student Exhibition Creativity Contest. She was awarded the special nomination of China's "Top Ten Exhibition Planners" in 2014 and won the title of the first "Top Ten Outstanding Teachers" of Chengdu University.
