On the morning of November 19, Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Adelaide University in Australia, led a delegation on a visit to Chengdu University (CDU). Peng Xiaolin, Vice President of CDU, warmly received the guests in Room A316 of the Administrative Support Center.
In 2025, CDU and Adelaide University initiated collaboration under the "Chinese and Foreign High-level University Students Exchange Program", enrolling students in two undergraduate programs: Computer Science and Technology, and Accounting. This visit marks the first meeting since the official approval of the "Chinese and Foreign High-level University Students Exchange Program" collaboration between the two universities. The two sides held fruitful discussions on core issues such as deepening high-level talent cultivation and expanding areas of cooperation.
During the talks, Peng Xiaolin extended a warm welcome to Jessica Gallagher and her delegation, providing a detailed introduction to CDU's history, disciplinary strengths, and achievements in advancing its internationalization strategy. She emphasized that CDU places great importance on its collaboration with Adelaide University, noting that the "Chinese and Foreign High-level University Students Exchange Program" is a key initiative in building a new pattern of high-level opening up for the university. She expressed hope that this meeting would serve as a fresh starting point to increase the number of collaborative programs and broaden cooperation in scientific research and innovation, student and faculty exchanges, and cultural mutual learning, ultimately creating a model for Sino-foreign cooperative education.
Jessica Gallagher expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception from CDU and affirmed the shared vision for collaboration between the two institutions. She introduced the educational philosophy and achievements in international cooperation of Adelaide University, expressing strong confidence in the "Chinese and Foreign High-level University Students Exchange Program". She stated that Adelaide University would fully support the construction and development of the program, looking forward to leveraging this platform to pool high-quality resources from both universities and jointly cultivate top-notch innovative talents with global competitiveness and cross-cultural understanding.
Following the talks, the delegation attended a student meeting for the "Chinese and Foreign High-level University Students Exchange Program" in Room A102 of the Administrative Support Center. The delegation from Adelaide University introduced and showcased the university's academic strengths, teaching features, and unique campus culture to the first cohort of program students. Student representatives from CDU shared their initial gains and growth experiences in the program. During the interactive Q&A session, students actively asked questions about curriculum design, study abroad life, and career development, to which the delegation provided detailed and thorough responses.
After the meeting, the delegation also visited the Stirling College and the Traditional Crafts Institute. This visit and exchange not only strengthened the friendship and mutual trust between the two universities but also injected strong momentum into the smooth implementation and long-term development of the "Chinese and Foreign High-level University Students Exchange Program", opening a promising new chapter in their collaboration.
