Delegation of Japanese University Students of the Japan-China Cultural Exchange Association Visits Chengdu University

Invited by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, a delegation of 73 Japanese university students came to Chengdu University for an exchange visit on June 16th. The delegation was led by Kazuko Nagai, Permanent Committee Member of the Japan-China Cultural Exchange Association, a renowned vocal artist, and Honorary Professor at Tokyo University of the Arts. Zhu Ming, President of Chengdu University, welcomed the delegation, expressing hope that through this exchange activity, mutual understanding between the youth of both countries could be deepened, reciprocal communication and integration promoted, and thus the cause of China-Japan friendship boosted.

The delegation members came from over 30 universities in Japan. They toured the campus, the FISU Games Village, and the Traditional Crafts Institute among others, engaging in exchanges and learning with our faculty and students. At the Overseas Education College, they picked up Chinese brushes and experienced making traditional Chinese painted fans. At the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts, youth from China and Japan strolled along the banks of the Luming Lake, communicating, interacting, and making friends. At the exchange conference, the delegation enjoyed a splendid and diverse artistic performance with students and faculty from our School of Music and Dance, College of Clinical Medicine, and College of Teachers. They expressed their emotions through song and greeted friends from overseas with dance. In a joyful and festive atmosphere, youth from both countries forged friendships and discussed their ambitions for the future together.

Liu Quansheng, President of the Sichuan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, expressed in his speech the hope that youth from China and Japan would learn from each other and grow together through exchanges as future builders and promoters of China-Japan friendship. Kazuko Nagai, the delegation leader, expressed gratitude for the thoughtful arrangements and hospitable reception from the Chinese side. She remarked that the visit to Chengdu University had enhanced mutual understanding and friendship between youth from China and Japan. She also expressed hope that youth from both countries would harbor aspirations and jointly create a brighter future.

Officials from the East Asia Department of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries accompanied the visit. Tang Jilan, Vice President of the Sichuan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and representatives from Chengdu University's Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and Youth League Committee attended relevant activities.
