CDU ESI Rank Hits New High, with Record Number of Highly Cited Papers

On March 9, Clarivate Analytics released the latest Essential Science Indicators (ESI) data dated from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2022. Among all 8,557 scientific research institutions worldwide on the ranking list, Chengdu University (CDU) has ranked 271st on the Chinese mainland. It has also ranked 3324th worldwide, 588 positions higher than the last list, making CDU the university that has made the biggest jump in the ranking. CDU has 4,664 articles on the list, including 164 highly cited papers, ranking among the top 120 universities for the first time, and ranking 119th together with China Medical University, National University of Defense Technology of the People's Liberation Army, as well as Henan Normal University.

Over recent years, CDU has made relentless efforts in natural sciences, and seen the steady rise on various scientific research indicators. New records have been set one after another, by working in strict accordance to the messages of relevant national, provincial and municipal documents, focusing on the strategic deployment of the "541" Project of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee and Chengdu Municipal People's Government, and centering on the strategic planning for the development of CDU. Thus, triumphant news keeps pouring in. The research paper entitled Critical Role of Hydrogen for Superconductivity in Nickelates published by Professor QIAO Liang and his team from the School of Physics, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in cooperation with CDU, marks CDU's first paper in Nature. The Research Fellow Zhao Kelei and his team have worked with the Research Fellow Su Zhaoming and his team from the State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, to publish their latest research paper titled Structural Basis of sRNA RsmZ Regulation of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Virulence in Cell Research, a top international academic journal.
