CDU Wins Excellent Organization Award of the 17th Challenge Cup, the National University Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Work Competition

Realizing dreams through scientific and technological innovation and challenging ourselves while in youth. On April 12, the 17th Challenge Cup, the National University Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Work Competition, drew to a close at Sichuan University (SCU). It is jointly sponsored by the CYLC Central Committee, China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), All-China Students' Federation (ACSF), and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, hosted by SCU. Chengdu University (CDU) was awarded the Excellent Organization Award of the 17th Challenge Cup.

It is reported that the Challenge Cup has been held every two years since 1989, and is the highest-level technology innovation competition for students with the largest scale and scope in China. Over the past 30 years, the Challenge Cup competition has been supporting university students to carry out scientific and technological innovation activities vigorously, showcasing a beautiful landscape of contemporary Chinese youth, which is a new journey of the CYLC with 100-year history under the CPC's leadership, as well as a vivid picture of China's science and technology towards self-reliance and self-improvement. This year's competition adheres to the reform direction of "enlarging the mass basis, objectivity and communication", attracting 22,000 pieces of work from 2,500 universities and institutions in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region, showing a prosperous scene of both quantity and quality improvements. With a history of 32 years, the magnet effect of the Challenge Cup is increasingly prominent. It has been widely recognized by teachers and students from universities and colleges in China in terms of its coverage, universality, credibility, and authority.
