On June 30, Chengdu University received a letter from the China Scholarship Council (CSC) approving our university to be a partner university of the CSC's "Study Abroad Program for Young Backbone Teachers" (hereinafter referred to as "The Program" ) from 2021.
This cooperation program means that our university has the right to independently select and evaluate teachers for overseas training programs, which is bound to be a good opportunity for the continuous and stable development of the internationalization of our backbone teachers, and has a positive effect on the internationalization of our teaching staff. It opens up new channels for our university to cultivate and create a group of young backbone scholars with innovative ability and development potential, and leading talents of disciplines with international influence.
The Study Abroad Program for Young Backbone Teachers was established by CSC in 2004, aiming to promote strong cooperation between domestic institutions of higher education and prestigious foreign universities with their own strengths, and to select a large number of young backbone teachers with great development potential to conduct cooperative research in top universities or scientific research institutions abroad. The selection is mainly for visiting scholars and post-doctoral programs. CSC and our school will provide funding for overseas study in a 1:1 ratio.
The program's application period this year is September, and there are 5 quotas for our selection in 2021.
