CDU Ranks 109th Among Universities in the Chinese Mainland in QS World University Rankings: Asia 2024!

Three subjects of Chengdu University (CDU) have been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2024, and nine subjects have been listed in ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023. Surprisingly, CDU is ranked 109th among universities in the Chinese mainland in the latest QS World University Rankings: Asia 2024, which was released on November 8.

On November 8, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2024. This year's ranking includes 856 institutions from 18 Asian countries and territories, and is the largest comparative assessment of higher education systems in Asia, which is conducted by QS. Notably, 192 universities in China have been listed in this year's rankings, with 133 universities from the Chinese mainland. CDU is ranked 109th among universities in the Chinese mainland in the 551-600 range by 2024 QS Asia.

In 2022, CDU was ranked for the first time in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2023, among 128 mainland Chinese universities on the list. CDU achieved the breakthrough of being listed in the QS World University Rankings, THE World University Rankings, US News Best Global Universities Ranking, and Academic Ranking of World Universities, which are the four most prestigious university rankings in the world.

On October 26 this year, the THE World University Rankings 2024 were released. A total of three CDU subjects are on the list: engineering (ranked 601-800 globally), computer science (ranked 601-800 globally), and clinical and health (ranked 801-1,000 globally). On October 27, ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, an organization specializing in higher education evaluation, officially released the "ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023". A total of nine CDU subjects are on this list, ranking 124th in China and 640th globally. Of the subjects listed, one is in the world’s top 50, and one is in the world’s 101st-200th, with seven in the world’s 201st-500th.
