On October 27, ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, a leading higher education evaluation agency, officially released the 2023 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS). This ranking is based on internationally comparable objective academic indicators, including international academic awards, notable subject-specific theses, thesis quality, and international collaboration in academic subjects. It covers 55 academic subjects across Physical Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. Over 1,900 universities from 104 countries and regions are featured in various subject lists.

Seven of these subjects have earned a place in China's top 100 rankings, with Food Science and Engineering achieving a spot among the world's top 50.
